SODICA Corporate Finance advises MUTUALITÉ FRANÇAISE COMTOISE on the sale of its two medicine, surgery and obstetrics clinics to Groupe C2S

On 30 September 2020, MUTUALITÉ FRANÇAISE COMTOISE sold its two medicine, surgery and obstetrics clinics to the private hospital group C2S. This transaction enables MUTUALITÉ FRANÇAISE COMTOISE to refocus on its long-standing businesses.

MUTUALITÉ FRANÇAISE COMTOISE, a non-profit organisation, is a major health player at a local level with 14 residential establishments for elderly dependent persons, 7 dental facilities, 9 optic centres and 8 hearing centres. In the health sector, it has the largest hospitalisation-at-home establishment in Franche-Comté, with 160 patients given care daily.

MUTUALITÉ FRANÇAISE COMTOISE generates nearly €65 million in revenue and has nearly 1,000 employees across its 41 sites in the Doubs and Haute-Saône departments and the Territoire de Belfort administrative district.

As a result of this transaction, MUTUALITÉ FRANÇAISE COMTOISE is parting ways with the Polyclinique de Franche-Comté, located in Besançon, and the Polyclinique du Parc, located in Dole, two benchmark establishments in their area that have comprehensive technical capabilities, a medical oncology unit and a level 2A maternity ward in the case of the Polyclinique de Franche-Comté. These two establishments employ 350 people and generate around €28 million in revenue.

Groupe C2S, assisted by Eurazeo Capital, is a major private hospitalisation player in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes and Bourgogne Franche-Comté regions, with 17 establishments and two hospitalisation-at-home structures.

The management team at MUTUALITÉ FRANÇAISE COMTOISE chose Groupe C2S following a competitive process led by SODICA Corporate Finance, which attracted interest from several regional and national health groups.

Thierry Barbon, General Manager of MUTUALITÉ FRANÇAISE COMTOISE said: “SODICA Corporate Finance provided attentiveness, availability, technical skill and responsiveness, which made a major contribution to the success of this strategic refocusing transaction. The teams that assisted us were as intensely involved as we were, and each of the parties’ interests were met intelligently.”

The excellent collaboration between SODICA Corporate Finance and the management team at MUTUALITÉ FRANÇAISE COMTOISE enabled the transaction to be completed in a unique health context.

This transaction confirms SODICA Corporate Finance’s position as a benchmark player in the Health sector in France, thanks to its regional proximity and sectoral expertise.
