Crédit Agricole Group creates a Societal Commitment Division
Following the creation of a CSR department in 2011, and a Corporate Social Responsibility department in 2019, the creation of the Societal Commitment Division marks a new stage in Crédit Agricole's ambition to place environmental and social issues at the center of its strategic thinking and action.
Reporting directly to Philippe Brassac, Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole S.A., this division's objective is to define, promote, lead and coordinate the Crédit Agricole Group's environmental and societal initiatives, in order to encourage the fullest possible dissemination of a responsible and sustainable approach in all its activities and in its relations with its stakeholders. The newly created division will be responsible for:
- Steering Crédit Agricole’s Societal Project, which promotes the integration of responsible practices into its day-to-day operations, including financial transparency, a solid governance framework, respect for human rights, equal opportunities, and social cohesion.
- Adopting and monitoring sectoral policies and practices favourable to the environment, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the reduction of the ecological footprint, the promotion of renewable energies, the sustainable management of resources, and raising awareness of environmental conservation and the living ecosystem.
- Contributing to responsible risk management to ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Promoting the financing of projects and businesses having a positive impact on society and the environment, such as initiatives linked to clean energy, education, health, financial inclusion, and social entrepreneurship.
Created as of 1 July 2023, this Division is headed by Éric Campos, whose experience and proven expertise in environmental and social issues will be a real asset.
In this capacity, he has joined Crédit Agricole S.A.’s Executive Committee.
