Crédit Agricole CIB partners with Hera to introduce Italy’s first sustainable revolving line of credit
On May 2018, the 17th, the Italian multitutility Hera closed successfully the first Italian Environment Social Governance (ESG) Loan of €200 million.
Hera is a pioneer of the Green and Sustainable market in Italy having launched the first Italian Green Bond in 2014 and the first Italian ESG Loan. Crédit Agricole CIB has accompanied Hera in both transactions.
The new credit line of €200 million named “ESG linked RCF Facility” has elements of sustainability through a bonus mechanism tied to specific environmental, social and governance objectives and in particular reduction of CO2 as the main indicator identified out of 3 key parameters.
This deal was arranged by four banks and Crédit Agricole CIB acted as Mandated Lead Arranger and Facility Agent. This transaction perfectly reflects the strong engagement on environmental and social aspects of both Crédit Agricole CIB and Hera in their respective businesses.”
