COVID-19: 20 million euros for protection of the elderly

In the face of an unprecedented health crisis, Crédit Agricole is dedicating 20 million euros to finance essential measures aimed at the elderly, in order to protect them and help them stay connected with their loved ones.

The elderly are the most at risk from the coronavirus. Whether in elder care facilities or at home, they need our support and care now more than ever.

It is urgent that we prevent them from contracting the virus and help caregivers in facilities, as well as home care attendants, to protect themselves in order to protect the elderly.

It is also urgent that we work to reduce their feelings of isolation and solitude during the lockdown period. The elderly will likely be the last group to be released from the lockdown. They need to stay connected to their families, to be reassured, and to exchange news with their loved ones.

Crédit Agricole is dedicating a fund of 20 million euros to protect the elderly, while supporting the caregivers in nursing homes and home attendants who are committed to their care.

Backed among others by the Crédit Agricole Solidarité et Développement Foundation, the fund will serve to finance the most urgent purchases:

essential supplies for caregivers in nursing homes and home care attendants: masks, gels, sanitizer wipes and screening tests.

tablets to help the elderly in nursing homes stay connected with their families and friends

It will also serve to finance related efforts by local actors working to support the elderly in care facilities and at home.

This solidarity fund for the elderly will also be open to donations from employees and representative of Crédit Agricole Group.
