Altarea Energies Renouvelables and Crédit Agricole Transitions & Énergies announce a partnership to launch a joint structure for the development and operation of large-scale photovoltaic projects

Altarea Energies Renouvelables and Crédit Agricole Transitions & Énergies (CA T&E), through its fund Crédit Agricole Énergies & Territoires managed by Amundi Transition Énergétique, announce the signing of a strategic partnership to create a joint structure dedicated to the development and operation of large-scale photovoltaic projects. Ultimately, more than 700 rooftops will be equipped with solar panels, primarily on agricultural infrastructures across France.

The implementation of the operation is scheduled by the end of 2025, subject to the fulfillment of suspensive conditions. The partnership will result in the creation of a joint entity, 75% owned by Crédit Agricole (50% by the Crédit Agricole Énergies & Territoires fund and 25% by Crédit Agricole Regional Banks* through dedicated funds), and 25% by Altarea Energies Renouvelables.

The structure will focus primarily on installing agricultural sheds equipped with photovoltaic panels on land provided by farmers. These buildings are offered at no cost to the farmers, who benefit from a new functional tool for their operations and a recurring income that helps sustain and secure their agricultural activity.

At full capacity in 2026, the platform will reach an installed capacity of 124.6 MWp, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of over 50,000 households. The electricity produced will be fed into the national grid, contributing to the decarbonization of local areas and the French energy mix.

This partnership validates the Altarea Energies Renouvelables model, acting as developer, asset manager, and operator alongside major investment partners such as Crédit Agricole Transitions & Énergies and the Crédit Agricole Regional Banks. It supports Altarea Energies Renouvelables’ strategy of development and reinvestment, supporting energy transitions across territories through five types of projects: rooftop photovoltaics, parking lot canopies, ground-mounted solar farms, agrivoltaics, and agricultural sheds. Altarea Energies Renouvelables’ development portfolio includes a secured pipeline of 500 MWp, of which 140 MWp are already priced.

For Crédit Agricole Transitions & Énergies and the Crédit Agricole Énergies & Territoires fund, this new investment alongside a long-standing Crédit Agricole partner strengthens its strategy of acquiring production assets. It also contributes to its ambition to reach 2 GW of installed capacity by 2028, reinforcing the renewable energy sector in France.
